Having taken the decision to create my personal web site, I immediately started to think of its structure and to write what would later become the famous "virtual pages". At the beginning this page was called "biography" but the name itself frightened me ... How is a biography written?? Well ... writing about yourself in this sense is not really the same as writing your curriculum vitae or introducing yourself in any other way which might be suitable for the person you want to communicate with or the requirements of the moment ... Here it is a matter of bringing everything into play, writing things about your own life which should give confidence to a virtual world of cybernetic readers of who knows what form and colour.
I will try to use simple and concrete words to tell you who I am and what I do ...
I am a person who is curious about life, a lover of foreign languages, scrupulous in my relationships and in my job. I have been working as a professional translator since 1994.
I have always joined my work as freelance translator and interpreter with jobs inside different businesses working in several areas. The freelance activity has brought me to travel, to know a lot of realities and to run into the strangest and most unusual things ... It has given me the curiosity, the enthusiasm and the open-mindedness that have allowed me to face in the best way the possibility of studying the specific languages of those areas where I have worked more closely.
This is how my activity as a writer came about ... and my first book, Ingiroparlando (Alinea Publisher, July 2004), which developed from the experience I gained during many trips as a professional freelance and from a thorough knowledge of tourism which I gained in important business realities.
Curiosity and desire to understand the many facets of life have always fed my desire to study. After attending Secondary School with an Emphasis on Sciences and Languages, I achieved a degree as an Expert in Languages. I attended the "Scuola Diretta a Fini Speciali per Esperti in Lingue nel Settore del Commercio Estero" of the University of Siena in Arezzo. I graduated with honours and I achieved a scholarship awarded by the Panathlon Club of Arezzo for my detailed study and analysis. In April 2010 I graduated with honours in Sciences of Administration, at the University of Siena.
WHY I DECIDED TO MAKE A WEB SITE
It was not my profession, but my professionalism that forced me to be present on the Internet, the magic tool that succeeded in eliminating language and cultural barriers by reviewing the dynamics between space and time. My moral commitment is to transmit my curiosity about the world and especially about its people. But you can join different languages and cultures only by speaking the language of the person you wish to communicate with. This is why the Internet plays a fundamental intermediary role in a process of globalization as important as the one we are living today. I hope my knowledge of languages, my professional skills and my cultural experiences can help you to establish intercultural relationships ... both commercial and personal ones ...
I am enrolled in the register of interpreter and translator of the Court of Arezzo.
